Hydration is incredibly important for your skin. It doesn’t matter if you have oily skin or you’re suffering from acne, blocked pores or breakouts, or any type of skin concern, hydration in the skin is a key factor.
When you're out in the cold, or at home with the heating on, all of this effects your skin, alcohol, stress and pollution affects the skin and reduces the hydration it in your skin.
This leads on to impact your barrier function in your skin which is what protects your skin, this becomes impaired, leading to changes to the pH of the skin. If the skin's PH changes everything is going to impact the skin differently, every product on the skin is going to feel differently, sometimes you may be a lot more sensitive to the products that you’re normally okay with. You might find your skin is red, itchy or dry and unbalanced. There could be a lot more problems with your skin you don’t usually have and this is generally down to the weather and how hydrated your skin is. Once your skin is incredibly hydrated everything works better yourself
When the PH of the skin has changed it will let in a lot of Irritants from pollution and other free radicals which causes sensitivity on the skin. This is what changes the pH of the skin, skin should have a pH of 4.5 to 5.5 when the skin is subjected to cold or central heating this is one thing which changes.
Hydration which is the root of all skin concerns and good hydration is one of the best ways to protect your skin. Using a clinical skincare brand will give you the best results, Image skincare was developed in the USA by a cosmetic surgeon. One of the benefits of using a clinical skincare brand is the proven ingredients that are in the products, delivery systems which pull ingredients down to all the layers of the epidermis. The smallest molecule sizes which are in the product and the delivery systems which drive ingredients down to the different layers of the epidermis.
In contrast if you was to buy a commercially graded product, these are products that you see advertised on the TV, the problem with those types of product is the molecule size is so big it will only sit on the surface of the skin and isn’t capable of penetrating any deeper. The layers of the skin on the surface are dead so you really won’t get any visible or lasting results.
Hyaluronic acid in clinical skincare is one of the very finest ingredients to look out for. Your skin naturally produces this. Skin is full of hyaluronic acid it’s present in your joints, your eyes, your skin and most parts of your body. This is the water for your skin.
As we age the skin starts to decrease in the amount of hyaluronic acid that is produced and the amount of collagen and elastin your skin produces, everything slows down in your skin which is when the ageing process starts to happen.
Hyaluronic acid holds 1000 times it’s weight in water and it binds water and moisture to your skin, it also helps with cell turnover and if all your cells are hydrated everything in your skin is going to work better. Your skin cells are going to be much healthier, so everything in turn works a lot more effectively.
If you are receiving treatments for pigmentation or lines and wrinkles or you’re having any chemical peels all of this is going to work better on your skin because you are now treating healthier skin.
